Terence Hannum is a Chicago-based artist and educator who works in video art, drawings, paintings, and writing. His themes focus on the transcendence and impermanence of sound and performance, and the group catharsis experienced by those who surrender to them.

Mr. Hannum received his MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Recent solo exhibitions include 12 x 12 Current Artists/New Work at Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, 2007, and To the Positive Youth, a mini-exhibit at Polvo, Chicago, 2005. Recent group exhibitions include 2007 Midwestern Biennial at DePauw University, Greencastle, IN, Artists Books at Western Exhibitions, Chicago, 2006, and Silence: Listen to the Show, Curated by Francesco Bonami, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, in Torino, Italy.
